GroupWise Email, Part 1

I think most of us are guilty of thinking GroupWise = Email.  OK, so it is the email application on campus, and we’re all so busy being excited we have reliable, mostly spam-free access in school and at home, that we forget GroupWise is so much more than just email.

GroupWise is a powerful communication, planning, and productivity application.  Email is just one tiny piece of what it has to offer.   There’s a calendar tool, a task list, resource scheduler, and the ability to share folders with colleagues.   But one step at a time….

 Today, Email.  Here’s the Agenda.

  • Overview of GroupWise
  • Overview of Email
  • Address Book(s)
    • How to send email to everyone on campus (or not!)
    • How to create your own email groups (English Dept. or Curriculum Committee, or Block 1 parents, etc.)

In Email, Part 2, we’ll look at:

  • Folders
    • Is every email you have ever received in your inbox?!
  • Attachments
    • How to send Word, Excel, .pdf, and image files

If questions, mysteries, specifics don’t get answered today, post to the blog and I’ll respond.  Chances are if something’s fuzzy for you, it is for someone else too.
