How do I get started? Go to http://del.icio.us/help/getstarted

1. Click on ‘register’ (top right).

2. Fill out the form. You will received a confirming email.

3. For now, ignore ‘install buttons’ –I already installed them.

4. To install buttons on your classroom computer, go to: http://del.icio.us/help/buttons?ua=ie and click where it says ‘here.’

5. Now you’re ready to start bookmarking!  Go to a favorite website, click on the ‘tag’ button and you have bookmarked your first website.

How do I add all of the sites I’ve already bookmarked on my computer?

1. Click on ’settings’ (top right of screen).

2. Under ‘bookmarks’ click on ‘upload/import’ and follow the 2 steps.

How do I find cool sites other people have bookmarked?

1. Go to: http://del.icio.us/help/discovering and find out about ‘hotlists,’ ‘popular,’ and ‘recent’ bookmarked websites.

2. On the del.icio.us home page, click in the search box on the top right of the screen and enter a tag.  Note: Tags must be only one word or the words must be linked with an underscore character.  Example:  lessonplans or lesson_plans

What else can I do? (For overachievers!)

1. Try adding me (username:  itsallaboutinfo) to ‘your network’.

2. Try bundling your tags.  See how under ’settings,’ then ‘tags,’ then ‘bundle tags.’
